What did you do this past week?

This past week was really hectic for me due to having a volleyball tournament in College Station last weekend that took up a lot of my time to do weekly assignments. I managed to complete a Neural Networks assignment just in time, as well as doing my weekly Algorithm assignment, working more on phase 2, and completing a final round interview. My group and I have pretty much finished the backend for phase 2. Now all that is left is unit testing and UML/integrating with front end.

What’s in your way?

Currently, time-management is in my way. Phase 2 has taken up a ton of time, and I am finding it difficult to balance my 3 upper division CS courses as well as Club Volleyball and social life.

What will you do next week?

Next week, I will hopefully have a more relaxing week once phase 2 is done. I will do my typical weekly assignments, and then I have another volleyball tournament at UTSA on saturday!

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #8: Interface Segregation Principle?

I thought that this paper was a good read. It helped clarify certain aspects of coding design that I had not critically thought about in the past.

What was your experience of functions, closures, and decorators? (this question will vary, week to week)

These topics were all very new to me, so the lectures were very helpful.

What made you happy this week?

Yesterday, I went to a haunted house with a bunch of my friends! It is called House of Torment and it was pretty fun! Unfortunately, I think they were understaffed, so there weren’t as many live-actor jump-scares as I would have hoped for, but it was still a really fun bonding experience.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick of the week is using VSCode live share as an easy way to do pair-programming remotely.
