What did you do this past week?

This past week, I completed my usual weekly assignments, including my Algorithms assignment, Neural Networks flipped-classroom lecture, and discussion sections. I also had many volleyball IM games. Although my Men’s team won quarterfinals in an underdog fashion, we were stopped short in semifinals, and my coed team lost in the quarterfinals of the A bracket. Besides volleyball, I have also been continuing to lift/workout consistently, which marks my second week of consistent lifting, as I was unable to earlier this entire semester due to being too busy.

What’s in your way?

Currently, nothing is really in my way. Men’s Club Volleyball is slowing down as a result of the season coming to an end, so I am finding myself with a bit more free time than usual.

What will you do next week?

Next week, I will probably continue to exercise and do my weekly assignments. I also plan on working on phase 4 of the project, as well as start working on my Neural Networks final project with the rest of my group. Next week is also Thanksgiving break, so I plan on going back home to Houston and spending the holidays with my friends and family.

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #13: Why Extends Is Evil?

Unfortunately, I did not read this paper. I have already gotten my 12 E or Ms on my papers required for an A, so I did not find the need to spend extra time on it.

What was your experience of SQL? (this question will vary, week to week)

I really enjoyed learning more about SQL this week. I feel like SQL is a pretty intuitive language, so a lot of the exercises were also fun and overall good experiences for me.

What made you happy this week?

This week, I was able to go to a lineage event for my FSA (Filipino Student Association) family. It made my heart really full to meet all of my Grandings and hang out with my adings again. It was also really relaxing to have my Neural Networks assignment and phase 3 completed and out of the way.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

For my tip-of-the-week, I recommend getting a good night's sleep. Sleep is extremely important for your body, not only for recovery but also for information retention and other benefits.
